Ninja Warrior League

The idea for our Ninja Warrior League sprung from various We Love Philly students who were tired of seeing the senseless violence that fellow teenagers were engaging in around Philadelphia. Their passion deepened after We Love Philly Student, Dominik Herrera, 17, became a victim of gun violence on October 24, 2022. Dominik Herrera was shot outside his family’s Mayfair home—counting him among the more than 2,265 people shot in Philadelphia in 2022
What is the goal?
After building the league internally, we aim to invite three more grassroots organizations that serve teenagers into our league. Our goal is to hold twice monthly game days in order for these teams to compete and for their supporters and networks to come together to share stories and resources around the effects of gun violence.
